(More customer reviews)This book is a good overview of tractor restoration. It follows the restoration of a Ford 9N tractor to original parade ready condition and a Farmall to working condition. It has chapters on each section of restoration such as electrical systems, fuel system etc. While it describes the steps involved in some detail for the two tractors being documented, it notes the exceptions for others such as John Deere. This book will give you a good feel for what tractor restoration is about and it will even give you some detailed instructions for some of the work involved, but it will not be the sole resource needed. Fortunately the author is well aware of that fact and gives generous references as to where more information can be found, not just other publications, but also societies and parts dealers.
This book is well written and well organized. It has a lot of good photographs, even if many of them are in black and white. I recommend it as a good starting point, but certainly not the last word.
