This book is a must read for the hot rodder from the late 1940s thru the 1980s. It is a heartfelt biography of a father written by his daughter who did not know much about her father's racing career until she wrote the book. It was just the family's life to be at the drag strip every weekend and she did not pay much attention to the racing results and records that her Dad won. Bill Waddill raced and was successful in many different venues, unlike most racers who concentrate on just one kind of racing. He was not one to talk about his accomplishments and did what he did for his own self-satisfaction. He was well known in the family of racing in the early days and treasured his friendships with some of the greats like Wally Parks, Mickey Thompson and Roger Huntington. He was truly the "best kept secret in racing" that the Bonneville Racing News stated in a headline. Even though he has been gone for over 20 years, they are still writing about him on-line and he was once again published in Hot Rod magazine for an engine he had built in 1959.
