I would not recommend for a absolute beginner, but I found it to be interesting reading even though I rarely rebuild. If you are just learing get How To Rebuild Your Nissan OHC also (Book Number 1555611591). This is a must have book for anyone interested in Nissan/Datsun Z series cars but also covers other Nissan OHC engines.
