Barney Google is a complicated player in American comics art, from racial and social stereotypes to the pervasive comic lines of fish-eyed, wide-legged men with stylish femmes fatales. This book provides a record of what appears to be the daily strips from mid-March to early-May of 1923. However, the book itself seems like a collection of xeroxed strips from microfiche files at the library, over-enlarged and pixelated with some distortion. The last few strips appear to have been copied from torn versions with missing sections. For a general record, this book offers some resource (I'll certainly keep my copy), but for good reproductions of DeBeck's penwork and a broader cover of the stories, it would be good to look at other texts.
