(More customer reviews)I have a four year old son that is obsessed with cars, race cars, and boats. The Eyewitness series has been an amazing introduction for him into the technical and historical background of the objects that he loves. I would venture that some portions might be difficult for him to grasp, however he still listens with rapt attention and is able to ask intelligent questions. The series in general has a main paragraph for each page, surrounded by many drawings and photos that contain multiple mini-captions. At four, we typically either read the main paragraph or we focus on the smaller vingettes. These books have enriched our ability to talk about the subjects he likes, have given him some basic technical substance, and are showing him that there is a complex history and engineering behind the cars and boats that he's long admired.
