Cracking the ASVAB, 2nd Edition (College Test Preparation) Review

(More customer reviews)This book would have earned a higher score had it not been so full of errors. My husband recently purchased this book to help him study for the ASVAB. We chose the Princeton Review one because we thought we could trust the name. There are countless errors in both the explanations of how to take the test as well as the practice tests. In a novel a few typos are harmless, but in a test prep book, it renders it useless.
The format of the book is good. It is divided up into clear sections with practice tests throughout. I hope that the next edition is more thouroughly proof read so that it can be helpful to others.

CliffsNotes ASVAB, with CD-ROM Review

(More customer reviews)Used for the AFOQT sections-- there was good background and prep, but be careful on the practice test! (Especially test 2!) The answer key isn't always correct (it isn't that I'm amazing and get the right answers... but the explanations don't always line up with the right answer. For example, it says that the correct answer is option C, "2 apples," but when you look, "2 apples" is actually answer B, not C...)

(More customer reviews)This book was excellent for cramming before the test. The material that the ASVAB covers is often dry and boring (honestly), but this book makes it an easy read that doesn't put you to sleep.
I used this book as a study aide 1 week before the test, and got a very high score. I'm not saying that using this book will guarantee you a High Score but I'm confident that it will help boost your score.
The fact is; the test material isn't hard but taking the test on things you haven't thought about for a while can be tricky. This book does three things for you:
1. Makes the material a bit more interesting
2. Jogs your memory
3. Familiarizes you with the style and timing of the test sections.
The 3rd one is the most important.
As if you couldn't guess, I highly recommend this book.
